This year our Ventures and Scouts are given the opportunity to travel to the Netherlands to take part in the 14th Haarlem Jamborette. This is summer camp for 3000 scouts aged 10 - 17 years old from more than 25 different countries.

Ruan Scouts will be preparing and travelling together with the Ennis Scouts.

FUNDRAISING

Our Ventures and Scouts will be looking to raise €1,400 between now and August 2023 in order to bring their individual costs down. Planned fundraisers, so far are a Hot Chocolate sale, a Cake Sale, a Coffee Morning, Cash for Clobber and a Band Night. We will be coming up with more ideas in the new year. Please support our group!

Our Group Badge

Our group badge was designed by Ethan Ryan as part of our badge design competition. The competition was judged by John Egan, our County Commissioner, Morty Kelly, local publican and great supporter of our Scout Group and Rowen Stainsby, young graphic designer and entrepreneur and we would like to thank them for their time and effort.

Congratulations to Ethan for his fantastic design and on winning the scouting goodies bag.

Members of the public are being encouraged to become a tourist for the day in County Clare through a new tourism promotion initiative offering free and half-price admission to popular local visitor attractions and sites on Sunday, 23rd April 🗓️

‘Be a Tourist in Your Own County Clare’ is aimed at promoting the quality tourism product available in Clare to the domestic market ahead of the peak tourism season.

Clare is home to some of Ireland’s best known visitor attractions including: the Cliffs of Moher Visitor Experience; Bunratty Castle and Folk Park; Aillwee Burren Experience; Killaloe River Cruises; Doolin Cave, Craggaunowen; Burren Smokehouse & Taste the Atlantic – the Salmon Experience; and OPW Ennis Friary, all of which feature in the promotion 🎟️

This is the last week to drop up your unwanted clothing, shoes, towels, bags, curtains, belts and bedding to help our fundraising efforts. Last collection in Corofin; this Monday evening between 6 and 7.30 at the GAA car park. In Ruan; this Tuesday evening between 7 and 9.00 at the GAA grounds. All support greatly appreciated.
